Meet the Team

Daniel Elam has a diverse background in working with multifamily properties. Prior to joining Muskin | Elam, Daniel worked with Campus Advantage, a student housing company based in Austin, Texas and The Medve Group, an Investment firm specializing in multifamily assets headquartered in Dallas, Texas. During Daniel’s tenure, his responsibilities included acquisitions, asset management, business development, financial analyses and general management. Daniel’s professional and community involvement includes the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA), Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Austin Young Chamber of Commerce, JCAA Leadership Development Program and Hill Country Conservancy. Daniel graduated from Colorado State University with a double major in Finance and Real Estate (2006). He and his wife, Kara, enjoy spending time outdoors with their son (Luca) and dogs (Snoop and Pip).  You can also find them enjoying music and eating delicious food around town or traveling to find new adventures.

Ellen Muskin opened Muskin Commercial, LLC in 2011, having spent more than 30+ years involved in the sales, brokerage and analyses of multifamily properties in Austin area markets. Her prior experience included 12 years with Hendricks-Berkadia (fka Hendricks & Partners), where Ellen became a valued Partner and the designated Broker for all Texas offices. She served for more than a decade as head of Commercial Industrial Properties Company Multifamily Division and authored “The Source,” a respected quarterly review of the market. Ellen started her career in commercial real estate as co-owner of EquiNomics, a local start-up brokerage specializing in apartment communities, and created one of the first apartment databases in Austin. She holds membership in the Austin Commercial Real Estate Society (ACRES), Austin Chamber of Commerce, National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC), National Assoc. of Realtors (NAR), Texas Assoc. of Realtors (TAR) and Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) . Ellen attended the University of Texas/Austin, graduating with a B.S. in Communications (1980). Her career has always centered around marketing, including working with Harte-Hanks Communications and Cox Enterprises. She has resided in Austin since 1976, is married to a homebuilder and has two adult daughters and two grandsons. Her interests include gardening, entertaining, live music and practicing random acts of kindness.

Samantha Kask joined the Muskin | Elam Group in July of 2023. She is a highly accomplished marketing professional, recognized for her exceptional leadership as the Director of Marketing at RE/MAX All-Pro in Southern California, where she worked for 4 years. She pursued her passion for international business by studying abroad in the United Arab Emirates, where she gained valuable insights into diverse markets and cultures.

Samantha, a Minnesota native, graduated with honors from St. Cloud State University’s Herberger Business School, which is internationally accredited by AACSB, with a B.S. in Marketing and a Professional Sales certification. She currently lives in North Austin with her partner (Spencer), and her dog and cat (Artemis and Alfred). Outside of the office, she enjoys exploring national parks, museums, and trying new culinary experiences.
